Book Synopsis for Hero’s Best Friend: How far would Gandalf have gotten without Shadowfax? Where would the Vault Dweller be without Dogmeat? And could the Beastmaster been the Beastmaster without his fuzzy allies? Animal companions are more than just sidekicks. Animals can be heroes, too!
Found within are twenty stories of heroic action that focuses on the furries and scalies who have long been the unsung heroes pulling their foolish human buddies out of the fire, and often at great sacrifice-from authors both established and new, including Frank Creed, S. H. Roddey, and Steven S. Long.
Whether you’re a fan of Epic Fantasy, Sword & Sorcery, Science Fiction, or just animal stories in general, this is the anthology for you!

Reblogged this on Steven Grassie.
Hallo, Hallo Mr. Sandridge,
I am truly looking forward to reading this particular anthology! As you know from my last tour with #AChimericalWorld, I loved the fairies & the stories of the Seelie Court! These two particular anthologies have been earmarked on my bookish list of interest since late last year! I always love watching the growth of SSP and the compilations of talent they curate inside their anthologies! Plus, it helps that an editor who has a keen eye for spotting the stories which fit inside the anthologies is at the helm! Cannot wait to participate on the tour, and methinks the book is somewhere still enroute between here & there! Aye! I hope the storms from last week did not send the book afield! What a monsoon nightmare of near-tornadic systems I had to shift through!
Weather aside, I’m simply stoked for the blog tour & for seeing the other blogger’s reaction as there are only two of us posting reviews. 🙂 Eek. What a happy thought – a new anthology to soak inside and absorb into the worlds in which will greet me! I am seriously getting addicted to reading ‘shorts’! 🙂
ps: Happy you liked my “Mrs. Poe” post – I seriously cannot believe it took me *this!* long to meet the read Edgar! Wow. Incredible the doors books open when they are based on the historical past & through biographical fiction we learn things we never had the opportunity to learn before! Cheers!
Thanks!
I’m starting to love blog tours. 🙂
I truly love blog tours because of the interaction readers can have with the authors & editors, like you! 🙂 I wanted to thank you for the ‘likes’ you’ve been giving my blog lately! A nice nod for me to know you are appreciating what I’m writing about! I’ve read a lot of wicked stories that I’m so jazzed about, my heart & imagination is overflowing in happy memories!
Cannot wait for the morrow! Your Guest Post will be *live!* Ooh, whoopsie! It “is the morrow!” the clock turnt whilst I was not looking! Wells, you know what I mean,… lol
lol! Yeah, I know what you mean. 🙂
